A group of six strangers: Aillana Shadowfire, Arivanna, Bushy Branch, Hillia Henrick, Kellum yr Atala and Zuk Orranj, have their lives entwined when meeting in Waterdeep. Each of them with their own quests and unresolved pasts embark together in a small job of rescuing a small lord of the city and as a reward receive an old abandoned tavern in town where they establish their base. Unexpectedly what started as a new life will soon turn into shadowy dealings that will take them from neighborhoods infested by plagues to fights with criminal organizations and even a gladiatorial contest under the city.
